Fees & Pricing

All fees are disclosed upfront, with no surprise charges at any stage of care. Our goal is to provide complete transparency so that you understand the cost of your care before receiving treatment.

Office visit fees typically range from $199 to $575, depending on the complexity of the evaluation and services provided. These fees include any medically necessary X-ray or ultrasound imaging performed during your visit, eliminating the uncertainty and additional charges that are often associated with imaging obtained elsewhere.

If an in-office procedure is recommended, such as a corticosteroid injection, ultrasound-guided procedure, or regenerative medicine treatment, there will be an additional fee that is discussed with you in advance.

For patients who require surgery, we maintain a transparent and straightforward surgical fee schedule. Surgical fees are communicated clearly before scheduling, allowing patients to understand the anticipated costs and make informed decisions regarding their care.

Because appointments are thoughtfully scheduled with ample time to provide personalized, thorough care, we ask that patients provide adequate notice if they need to cancel or reschedule. Missed appointments and late cancellations limit our ability to offer that time to other patients seeking care. As a result, a $150 cancellation fee may apply to appointments that are canceled without sufficient advance notice.

We believe financial transparency is an important part of the physician-patient relationship and are committed to ensuring that patients never encounter unexpected charges or hidden fees.

For the convenience of our patients, DC Orthopedics accepts all major credit cards, checks, and cash. We encourage payment by credit card whenever possible to help streamline scheduling, billing, and follow-up care.

To facilitate a seamless experience, all new patients are asked to maintain a valid credit card securely on file. Having a card on file allows us to efficiently process approved charges, minimize administrative delays, and provide a more convenient patient experience.

Importantly, many services provided by DC Orthopedics are eligible expenses under Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Patients are welcome to use HSA and FSA funds to pay for office visits, procedures, and many other medically necessary services. We encourage patients to consult their plan administrator regarding specific eligibility requirements.

All fees and anticipated costs are discussed transparently before treatment is provided. Our goal is to make the financial aspects of care straightforward, predictable, and easy to understand so that patients can focus on their health and recovery.

Insurance & Billing

DC Orthopedics is an independent, out-of-network orthopedic practice. All DC Orthopedics providers are credentialed as out-of-network providers with the major commercial insurance carriers, allowing us to care for patients regardless of insurance network participation while maintaining the flexibility and personalized attention that define our practice model.

Operating outside traditional insurance contracts allows us to spend more time with patients, provide more individualized care, and make clinical decisions based solely on what we believe is best for each patient rather than the limitations imposed by insurance-driven requirements.

Although we do not participate as an in-network provider with commercial insurance plans, many patients may still be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement depending on their specific benefits. To help simplify this process, DC Orthopedics partners with Sheer Health, a company that specializes in assisting patients with eligible out-of-network reimbursement claims. For qualifying patients, Sheer Health helps navigate the reimbursement process and works to maximize available out-of-network benefits, reducing the administrative burden on patients and their families.

In addition, all DC Orthopedics providers have formally opted out of Medicare. As a result, Medicare and Medicare supplemental plans do not reimburse for services provided by our practice, and Medicare beneficiaries enter into a private agreement for care consistent with federal Medicare opt-out regulations.

We understand that insurance and reimbursement questions can be complex. Our team is happy to discuss your specific situation, explain anticipated costs, and help you understand the options available to you before treatment is provided.

Because DC Orthopedics is an out-of-network practice, payment is typically made directly to the practice at the time services are provided. For patients with commercial insurance plans that include out-of-network benefits, reimbursement may be available depending on the specifics of your coverage.

To facilitate this process, we provide detailed superbills and supporting documentation that can be submitted to most major insurance carriers for consideration of out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts vary by insurance plan and are determined solely by your insurer.

To make the process as simple as possible, DC Orthopedics partners with Sheer Health, a company that specializes in assisting patients with eligible out-of-network reimbursement claims. For qualifying patients, Sheer Health helps navigate the reimbursement process, assists with claim submission, and works to maximize available out-of-network benefits, reducing the administrative burden on patients and their families.

While we cannot guarantee reimbursement or predict the amount an insurance carrier may reimburse, many patients with out-of-network benefits are able to recover a portion of their healthcare expenses. Our team is happy to help you understand the process, discuss anticipated costs, and determine whether your plan may offer out-of-network coverage.

Our goal is to provide exceptional orthopedic care while making the financial and reimbursement process as transparent and straightforward as possible.
